14th August 1947 – I got my Identity, 14th August 2011 – I need a revival of it.

Today on 14th of August 2011, Despite the current bad law and order situation, bad governance, foreign power interference, Sectarian and ethnic violence, My neighbor’s cultural invasion via media, Our own media’s bad promotional work about my country;

“I loudly & proudly Say; Yes I’m a Pakistani & I’m proud of it – If u have a Problem with my country than you are having problem with me as well. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD”

The most astonishing fact about the creation of Pakistan to me appears to be the sheer amount of sacrifices that people were willing to make just to get here. We all know the horror stories of partition but even with the massacres, people were willing to risk everything, life, limb, family and fortune, only for a chance to be part of the great experiment of Pakistan. In those immigrants there was a spirit, an energy, an enthusiasm so rare nowadays that I fear it might be extinct. A love for an unborn Pakistan that far outweighed any emotion that has been expressed by Pakistanis today.Pakistan by design was a sanctuary, an opportunity, a second chance for the dejected, the down trodden, the ostracised alike to govern themselves, to nurture an infant nation and an infant people, and craft from whatever resources they could, a new commonwealth, fair and equitable in all it’s dealings to all it’s citizens. A nation where no man with means would let his neighbour sleep hungry, or an injustice take place, a land where the humanitarian principles of Islam and secularism come together in perfect fusion, a realm not just for the Muslim but for all of the dejected minorities of India

The US desisted from applying direct strategy which she had chalked out in September 2001 against Pakistan through covert war and has succeeded in achieving most objectives it
As against the advice of India. Due to Pakistan’s nuclear capability, US and its strategic partners therefore embarked upon a well-thought plan to gradually weaken Pakistan and its institutions politically, socially, economically and militarily to such an extent that it becomes powerless and either voluntarily hands over the keys of its nuclear arsenal in return for aid for its survival or else it becomes so paralytic that it is unable to respond when nuclear arsenal is physically struck. Besides de-nuclearization, other major objectives were to make Pakistan forget about Kashmir and to accept India’s hegemony. Progress so far made by adversaries of Pakistan is listed as under:
  • Weight of the war on terror has been craftily shifted from Afghanistan to Pakistan.
  • The people of northwestern tribal belt that were always regarded as our assets and had guarded our western border without any assistance from armed forces of Pakistan have turned hostile and a segment among them in its misplaced belief of establishing a caliphate is towing the agenda of adversaries of Pakistan in which many trained Lawrence of Arabia(s) are involved.
  • The western border that had become safe from 1989 onward during the Mujaheddin rule followed by Taliban rule in Kabul has once again become unsafe and has assumed dangerous proportions due to presence of US-NATO forces in Afghanistan and their mounting aggressiveness.
  • Peaceful and docile Baluchistan is up in arms and fascists Baloch nationalists are demanding independent Baluchistan. Non-locals even Pakistan lover balochs have migrated in huge number due to target killings.
  • Indian influence in Afghanistan that had vanished during Taliban rule has returned to haunt Pakistan. The US is striving to make India a key country in the region after its departure from Afghanistan. Indian and Israeli presence in Afghanistan has posed a two-front threat to Pakistan’s security.
  • Volatile forces are active in whole of FATA, several parts of NWFP, and Balochistan. Sindh is also restive and Karachi has become a killing field for target killers while southern Punjab is fast falling into the loop of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.
  • CIA, FBI, MI-6, agents have made deep inroads in government departments, legal fraternity and media while RAW and Blackwater have established networks in all the troubled regions of Pakistan. RAW’s involvement in Gilgit and CIA’s penetration within armed forces are latest revelations.
  • Under a planned strategy, India has been given a go-ahead to construct large number of dams on all the rivers flowing into Pakistan to create acute water scarcity in Pakistan and make it dependent upon India. Water strategy will be applied by India to solve Kashmir dispute on Indian terms.
  • Kashmir is almost a lost cause and talks are at best confined to confidence building measures only. Arrest of Kashmiri leader Ghulam Nabi Fai in USA is aimed at breaking the unarmed resistance movement of Kashmiris seeking right of self determination.
  • A large part of Pakistan’s Army, paramilitary forces and police have got deeply embroiled in fighting its own people on own soil with little hope of extrication in near future.
  • While precious military resources of Pak Army are being wasted out in futile war on terror, Indian military conventional and nuclear capabilities have been vastly upgraded to outclass Pakistan’s military capability and also weaken its nuclear deterrence value.
  • Application of indirect strategy by our adversaries to weaken Pakistan from within has rendered our nuclear deterrence redundant.
  • Pakistan has been gifted with NRO cleansed leaders who are totally subservient to the wishes of Washington.
  • The US administration has tightened its iron grip over the ruling regime to an extent that it treats Pakistan as its 51st state.
  • The rulers have on several occasions declared that Pakistan faces no threat from India. This change of mindset in respect of archrival which yearns to put Pakistan in the shredding machine is a drastic transformation which the US could only do.
  • Pakistan is US ally and is not at war with USA but is being subjected to drone attacks, threats.
Current Update about Baluchistan.

The leaders of Fascist and so called Azad Baluchistan, youth groups who are living in self-exile in London have been found to be holding secret meetings with the Indian diplomats in the British capital. The highly expensive flat, where these leaders belonging to an important Baloch tribe have been living since long, is a center of their clandestine activities. These leaders, who also have a very prized vehicle at their disposal in London, regularly visit US, Dubai and Oman. They get anti-Pakistan propaganda material printed in London and using different sources distribute it in various parts of Baluchistan. Their financial sources largely remain shrouded in mystery; however, it has been revealed that they get tickets for their frequent foreign visits from an Indian travel agent in London’s All South area who reportedly receives payments from the Indian High Commission.

Munter’s visit to Balochistan harmful to security

Pakistani establishment is being harried in the course of diverse slants by foreign media campaign as at one hand altitude western cant is claiming ‘the presence of Quetta Shura Taliban’ in Balochistan province, on the other hand intelligentsia and armed forces were preplanned slandered to be involved in human rights violation and enforced disappearances. All these issues were sparked among the foreign press especially Indian media is having too much before Muntar’s another attempt for talks over aperture of a US consulate in the constituency,

Muntar’s first visit was accompanied by Consul General William Martin on 2 May 2011, which attended Pashtoon Jirga of the tribal chieftain, The Jirga brought together 16 Pashtoon tribal elders from Balochistan who discussed issues of mutual interest, including economic development in the province and assured full cooperation in terms of financial aid, medical assistance and job opportunities to the Pashtoon tribesmen, many of the chieftains were agreed in the midst of the conditions, but there is still a red signal by Pakistani establishment for opening of a US consulate in Balochistan.

Cameron Munter “unprecedented efforts for getting space into Balochistan’s province is not enchanting place due to security reasons, although we term Balochistan ‘the poorest’ province of Pakistan but in fact Balochistan is the country’s richest prefecture in terms of natural resources and has significant role owing to Gwadar port. Pakistani establishment fears Tehrik-e-Taliban’s arrival to the province as it was already resisting towards the growing number of attacks and threats made by Baloch insurgents, yet citizen fear of target killers being increased each day of this year, School going children fall pray to psychological trauma and many of the families have left Quetta en route for other safer cities. Conversely Baloch freedom fighters have amplified their maneuver in destroying government assets and killing of the educationists, doctors and other high profile people working within the government institutions, this year more than 1654 civilian have reportedly been killed across Balochistan by Baloch insurgents. Large number of Baloch also travel to Iran, mascot, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan via Panjgur and Dalbandin frontier which may be an increasing trend of missing persons claimed by them.

Personal enmity among the Baloch tribesmen may be a reason of mutilated bodies, typically contenders are killed in revenge while mutilated bodies are thrown away in different localities, and it has become an uncomplicated stunt for Baloch groups’ exorcising themselves and putting charge on defense agencies. Lawyer and civil societies exaggerating chargers of this orthodoxy at the security agencies may impair the reputation of the state run agencies. Balochistan has become a major target of rival attacks since the fall of Akbar Bugti’s ecstasy in 2006, it gave more chances of the distant rebellion venture, people have stopped visiting Quetta from Punjab and other major cities, the lives and livelihood of both businessmen and traders have been affected due to continued shutter down strikes each day of a week, killing & kidnapping has almost marred the peace.

Security forces, especially the FC and the police, have increasingly become the target for the militant groups but its portrait is being outlined the mother of all evils. Large number of militant groups are being funded by chieftains in Balochistan, these Baloch chieftains cleave to have huge amount of money in their bank accounts getting through different money transfer services from Afghanistan and even from abroad, mostly the funds are in silhouette of trade but these activities couldn’t be brought to an end due to officially recognized as a legal process of money transferring into their bank accounts and lack of intelligence inquiries in this outstanding process, are also blow to security services. In the state of disorder and flashpoint, there is no option left for enhancement of security forces expansion in the entire Balochistan but Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani is not willingly accepting this offer for last four years, Raisani asked Gilani to place the FC under the provincial government because the security check posts were making problems for Baloch people, but the premier along with Interior Minister Rehman Malik and other cabinet members strongly opposed the idea, saying it was a federal force established under the Federal Force Act 1959 and could never be placed under a provincial government. This obstacle still continued between Raisani and Premier Yousaf Raza Gillani and may be demonstrating deceitful conduct with the federal government. Alternatively throughout preceding four years, FC seized huge amount of artillery and various illicit foreign weapons in different regions of Balochistan during raids and covert operations even at the check posts.

Development schemes of assorted edifice have been stopped due to attacks on government assets. “The BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army) and other Baloch nationalist elements have also stepped up their campaign against the Chinese engineers, it is fact that China a time-tested friend of Pakistan in the region is engaged in projects worth of 20$ billions projects in the country including Gawadar International Port, Chinese have responded positively to all requests from Pakistan for their involvement in Balochistan in terms of development projects like railway track, gas pipelines and electricity in Balochistan Province, with the passage of time insurgents have increased acts of destroying railway tracks, gas pipelines and electricity pylons and such attacks have reached almost to the crest. Most of the times forensic researchers discover Russian shells of bullets and salvo pieces, being used in covert attacks. Chinese Development projects plans have badly suffered due to continues attacks by the insurgent groups, but US is still committed to open a remote consulate in Quetta, how US is dead sure that Baloch insurgents funded in Afghanistan will never pose a threat to their presence in Balochistan. Baloch militia is also a part of indian network which is gathering intelligence for Indian & Russians, Besides Afghan agents are still operating in Balochistan they have been funding local Pashtoons in Afghanistan to rush Quetta and work for them, so here is concoction of involvement and security threat. CIA’s gathering intelligence information is still a useless deed as presence of Quetta Shura makes no sense in Balochistan, physical arrest of Taliban is not a victory of Afghan war, the victory is how to impede brains behind Taliban which may be presumed a high command for Afghan Taliban, and their existence may be concern to leader of the global war heads.

Rotten culpability entertainment in context to Indian media where Taliban, Al-Qaeda and roots of the global terrorism are often linked to Pakistan’s Premier intelligence agency ISI, is a also making an immense distinction on foreign policy regarding Afghanistan, India’s charisma in Afghanistan is manufacture of anti-improvement of political infrastructure, that compel Pakistani policy makers to take a U-turn, this move cannot bring peace to the region and poor people of Balochistan will always suffer from multi-directional interventions. Pakistan has resorted to the best interest of its country, over the past six months, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency captured four senior leaders of the Afghan Taliban, including Mullah Omar’s deputy who served as the head of the top shura, the leader of a regional shura, and two shadow governors including Mulla Salam, Hafiz Abdul Majeed, but Mike Mullen in not reaching to an agreement whether to trust ISI or not. The roots of the global terrorism still exist is Afghanistan while retaliating to end global terror, US has to take key stakeholder on the board to make further arrests, which is definitely Pakistan. Pakistan as an ally of the United States can bring peace to the region if encouraged and appreciated.

Dirty game against Pakistan

It is nothing but powerful psychological operations against the institutions and leadership in Pakistan. The Abbottabad incident in which it has been claimed by the same CIA operatives who confirmed weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and Afghanistan that Osama Bin Laden has been killed in an operation. No one is going to believe them as even back in Washington there are serious doubts about the success story. Despite the fact that it is an attempt to materialize withdrawal of US and coalition forces from Afghanistan without much disgrace, things are not in the hand of those who are running the show.

It was a one point agenda “the Abbottabad incident in which Osama Bin Laden was killed by US forces”. There was detailed discussion about incident and its implications and on military to military relations with the United States. Although its shortcomings in developing intelligence on the presence of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan was admitted but the achievements of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) were also highlighted which spoke the other side of the story. However, the Army authorities have ordered an investigation to look into the circumstances that led to the situation. COAS made it very clear that any similar action, violating the sovereignty of Pakistan, will warrant a review on the level of military / intelligence cooperation with the United States. We should not forget that a similar warning was issued to Washington but without any result.
It is important to mention here that in the backdrop of unofficial warnings regarding the possibility of similar hostile action against our strategic assets, the COAS made it clear that Pakistan’s strategic assets are well protected and an elaborate defensive mechanism is in place. One wonders Pakistani nuclear arsenal is comparatively much safer than that of US or any other country. We had excellent example of US security when its highly secure Pentagon was targeted without any knowledge of those behind the high technology radars and scanner as part of star war programme. Not only the Pentagon was hit as sitting duck but over three hundred US officers were killed in the attack. The defeat of US in Afghanistan despite the coalition of over 43 countries is rare example where handful of Mujahideen without any modern weapon and equipment forced the US to withdraw with humiliation. In fact, US claims to be a democratic country but it is nothing more than a beast adopting undemocratic, dictatorial and inhuman laws.

We have the example how they disrespected the dead bodies of those who oppose them claiming that their crime was holding extremist views. No doubt countries like US have not only caused tremendous loss to the world peace but have set even worst example than fascists and Zionists. The mass graves in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq are not hidden from satellite thermal images.
No doubt, the enemies of Pakistan are quite successful in throwing mud on our respected institutions. CIA Director Leon Panetta in a statement before US lawmakers said that Washington was trying to get to the bottom of Pakistan’s “troubling” role in their professed ignorance about the whereabouts of the Al Qaeda Chief. He said, “either they were involved or incompetent. Neither place is a good place to be”. Honestly, speaking the statement goes true with those who claim to be US Intelligence agents. Various statement from Pakistani authorities are being published in print and electronic media in an attempt to try to defuse the impression that US helicopters’ undetected flight into Pakistan was also facilitated by the mountainous terrain, efficacious use of latest technology and “nap of the earth” flying techniques. Whatever that is claimed by US and is supported by the channels and print media on the inputs received from Washington, it is neither the technology nor the superiority of the US forces that led the US helicopters to come near Pakistan’s Military Academy or civilian houses in Abbottabad but the fact remains that US is partner of Pakistan in the war on terrorism and they are often considered as friends. The episode has remarkable resemblance with the attack on US military Headquarters “Pentagon” and Intelligence hub “Twin Towers” during September 11 “9/1’. Our forces are alert and are capable enough to defend every inch of their motherland. Let no one be mistaken that despite an ugly attempt by the enemies of Pakistan to defame Pakistan Armed Forces, every loyal Pakistani loves them and is sure that the past leader who acted foolishly was in fact agents of enemies and adversaries is responsible for this difficult time. One remains confident that Pakistan armed forces along with every patriotic Pakistani is capable to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
Within one year of its occupation of Afghanistan, the US instead of stabilizing the occupied country started nudging Pakistan to do more against foreign militants and those sheltering them in South Waziristan (SW). It then started accusing Pakistan of providing safe sanctuaries to anti-US militants and allowing cross border terrorism. To divide the premier institutions, the US charged that some elements within the Army and ISI were linked with Taliban. Whom the US had not formed an alliance to fight war on terror. It forgot that Russia having suffered humiliation in Afghanistan because of US support wanted Afghanistan to become a graveyard for USA. Unlike Pakistan which is a coalition partner, Iran is hostile towards USA and desires its crushing defeat at the hands of Taliban. Pro-Taliban Islamic movement is raging in Uzbekistan and large numbers of Uzbeks are part of Taliban Army.

The main reason for overlooking all other players and singling out Pakistan is the secret plans hatched by USA in collaboration with India, Israel and Britain. Pakistan has been meekly enduring the snubs and illegal demands of Washington because of subservience of weak and corrupt rulers. Pakistan is stuck up in huge foreign debts, its economy is in ruins and oxygen is provided by US controlled IMF and World Bank to keep the country afloat. Pakistan’s economy has been deliberately enfeebled to force its weak-willed leaders to tamely hand over the keys of its nuclear arsenal to Washington.

Obama’s purpose of first troop surge in mid 2009 was to stabilize Afghanistan, gain effective control over all major urban centres as well as agricultural and poppy growing areas, dominate main supply routes, minimize civilian casualties, weed out corruption, improve governance, win over moderate elements within militants and convince them to surrender arms in return for jobs and financial assistance, expand and upgrade proficiency levels of ANA and police to be able to operate independently, build capacity of Pak Army to enhance its capability of tackling militants in FATA.

When the stated objectives couldn’t be achieved, Obama sanctioned second troop surge in December 2009. Purpose was to break the momentum of Taliban resurgence by recapturing critical spaces in southern and eastern Afghanistan, and to militarily weaken it to the extent that it is forced to come to the negotiating table on US terms. When no worthwhile objectives could be achieved after upgrading total strength of ISAF to 152000, the US started blaming Pakistan for its failures and made excuses that the chief reason for not being able to defeat the militants was the continued cross border terrorism from North Waziristan (NW) which in its view was the hub centre of terrorism, where main sanctuaries of militants were located and where Al-Qaeda leadership was based. 2010 saw upsurge of drone attacks in NW.

Pakistan is under intense pressure since the dawn of 2010 to launch a military operation in NW. All visitors coming from Washington have been pressing our leaders not to delay the operation since in their view it will have a direct bearing on the outcome of overall security situation in Afghanistan. While ignoring dozens of small and large scale military operations in seven tribal agencies of FATA and several parts of Khyber Pakhunkhwa in last nine years, the US is now stuck with NW and is trying to give an impression that Pak Army is reluctant to undertake action against militant’s sanctuaries or is incapable of fighting them in their stronghold. They forget that within NW, over 30,000 regular troops are stationed since 2005 and have conducted several operations. It was owing to successes achieved that Gul Bahadur was forced to sign an agreement in 2008.

A full-fledged operation on the scale of Swat and SW cannot be undertaken at present since troops are outstretched and extra deployment is at the cost of weakening critical eastern front. Very little rehabilitation work has been done in Mehsud belt of SW since majority of displaced persons living in camps of Jandola, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan have still not returned. Severe weather which will persist till end March was another constraining factor; so is lack of resources particularly helicopters and close support fund from USA.

To say that issue of terrorism will get settled after a successful operation in NW and that it will have a salutary impact on dwindling fortunes of US-NATO in Afghanistan will be naïve and far-fetched. It must be understood very clearly that small numbered Haqqani network and other militant groups in NW are not making any material difference on the outcome of war raging between Afghan Taliban and occupation forces in conjunction with unpopular Afghan National Army (ANA). Forays if any are too few and insignificant. These can be easily blocked if ISAF establishes border check posts at known crossing sites and mine/fence them. Bulk of resistance forces of Mullah Omar and Gulbadin Hikmatyar are residing in provinces of southern and eastern Afghanistan and are operating all over the country from there. With 80% of territory under their sway they hardly need any sanctuaries across the border.

Israel and India have been convincing USA that roots of terrorism in Afghanistan lay in FATA and inciting it to push forward its special forces into FATA to destroy the roots. Idea of safe havens in Waziristan has been transplanted into the minds of US officials so firmly that they have got transfixed with the idea and are convinced that until and unless the sanctuaries are not destroyed either by Pak Army or NATO, no worthwhile results will ever be achieved by them in Afghanistan and will suffer a defeat.

Had Pakistan been peaceful as it was before 2002, and there had been puny fatalities taking place as a result of terrorism, the accusers could have some grounds to get suspicious and hurl unsubstantiated accusations that there appeared to be some kind of linkage between Pakistan’s security forces and militants? On ground, Pak Army and ISI have suffered heavy casualties at the hands of militants of different hues who have joined up against them. Series of terror attacks have taken place on ISI installations in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan. GHQ was also struck by the terrorists. It is therefore highly unjust and immoral on part of USA to insinuate that Pakistan is backing the militants. The accusation is travesty of truth and speaks of mala fide intentions of USA.

Pakistan Army has suffered heavily since it has been fighting the foreign aided militants tenaciously without a break. Nearly 145000 troops are at war since 2002 and have been fighting under tremendous resource constraints. The US which had pushed it into the furnace of war has been releasing funds and counter insurgency equipment miserly. It has been withholding the critical support on account of Indian unfounded apprehension that the supplied equipment would be used against it. While the US is sympathetic towards Indian speculative security concerns, it is least bothered about genuine security concerns of Pakistan.

It is not Pakistan playing a double game and harming US interests as alleged but it is USA in league with its partners which is playing this dirty game against Pakistan. This fact has been amply proved after the arrest of Raymond Davis. Yet the US has the brashness to point fingers at Pakistan. It is still blowing hot and cold over Davis issue and threatening to sever ties if not released. Such callousness will neither bridge trust deficit nor help in building lasting friendly relations. The US has lost Afghanistan and is losing its protégés in the Arab world. It should bear in mind that Pakistan’s loss will be the severest of all.

US Planned Involvment in Balochistan

It was really alarming as a citizen of Pakistan and the regular reader of the newspapers to go through the news items pertaining to the first visit of US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter to Quetta and attending Pashtun tribal jirga in Quetta. Consul General William Martin also accompanied Ambassador Munter throughout his visit. Every one knows who is behind unrest in Balochistan. It is India supported by the United States. Munter very kindly announced that ?Balochistan is a proud province with a remarkable history, wonderful people, and strong traditions. I feel very fortunate to experience this firsthand by being included in this Pashtun tribal jirga.?

Munter must be aware of the remarks of the then US president Ronalad Regan who invited Afghan mujahideen?s leaders to white house.

A prominent academician and analyst Eqbal Ahmed has pointed out in one of his articles that ?in 1985, President Ronald Reagan actually called the Afghan Mujahideen (the future Taliban) ?the moral equivalent of America?s founding fathers.? At the time, they were battling the Evil Empire, so no degree of hyperbole in their praise could be considered excessive.

These ?moral equivalent of America?s founding fathers? are now, of course, terrorists.? The independence and the sovereignty of the same Afghans has been compromised since 2001. American forces are killing Afghan masses in the garb of WOT.

High-level talks between the United States, Afghanistan and Pakistan are going to be started on May 3, 2011. Earlier, the talks have been postponed due to the arrest of CIA?s Spy Raymond Davis in a murder case of two Pakistani in January this year. However, Raymond Davis case left two conspicuous impacts on U.S. Pakistan ties. Firstly, it has increased the strain in Pakistan and U.S. relationship and secondly also uncovered the CIA nefarious activities in Balochistan and FATA (Pakistan). The tension between two supreme intelligence agencies (ISI & CIA) further aggravated when American top political and military brass instead paying tribute to Pakistani security forces in Global War on Terror (GWOT) started maligning ISI for providing shelter to Haqqani Group of Taliban. In this regard Moassad and RAW?s financed Western and American media also launched a deliberate campaign against Pakistani security and Intelligence agencies. Pakistan has already condemned and rejected American political and military officials? statements regarding ISI and declared it a part of blame game against her security and Intelligence agencies.

Above all, CIA?s activities in Balochistan have become now quite intolerable which also put a big question mark over U.S. growing interest in this region. In fact, Creation of ?Greater Balochistan? is the top most agenda of U.S., India and Israel collaboration. Their obvious objectives are: (1) weakening Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan, (2) establishing strong hold in Central Asian Region even after culmination of war on terror, (3) denting Chinese economic interests in African and Middle East while creating impediment in full scale operation of Gawader Port and the last is looking after Indian and Israeli interests in the region. Therefore, the American establishment has started supporting pro Independent Balochistan Movement, and anti Pakistan elements in Balochistan. In this connection, CIA supported elements are using America, UK, India and Afghanistan as their platforms for organizing, planning and operational bases for execution of the plan of Independent Balochistan. Moreover, some militarily supported political lobbies of America and Uk are facilitating anti Pakistan elements (so called liberators) to carryout nefarious activities against Pakistan. On April 28, 2011 US Ambassador Cameron Munter, visited first time Balochistan and attended a Pashtun tribal Jirga in Quetta. He went there on the invitation of convener of Pakhtun Ulas Qaumi Jirga Nawab Ayaz Jogezai. The jirga brought together 16 Pashtun tribal elders from Balochistan who discussed issues of mutual interest, including economic development in the province and matters pertaining to security. American interest can be very easily judged from her ambassador statement in which he mentioned that ?Balochistan is a proud province with a rich history, wonderful people, who have strong traditions. I feel very fortunate to experience this firsthand by being included in this Pashtun tribal jirga,? He further added that by meeting face to face interaction can address the difficult issues facing Balochistan , in a spirit of open communication and collaboration,?. U.S. Ambassador meeting with Pakhtune leaders in Balochistan should not be taken as simple interaction and need to be monitored persistently since such type of meetings might create rift between three segments (Pakhtune, Balochis, and Punjabi).

In the last week of April 2011 Carnegie Endowment for Intl Peace has rented its space to the Balochistan Society, of North America (BSO - NA) to hold conference on Balochistan. Alongside this development, United States Institute of Peace (USIP) has also held an event ?Turmoil in Balochistan. The participants of meeting were (1) jaz Haider (a journalist from Pak),(2) Shazadi Beg (member of Department of Justice UK),(3)Selig Harrison (a contentious journalist known for his critical views on Pak),94) Marvin Weinbaum (Middle East Institute). The speakers fomented venom against Pakistan very openly as directed by their masters.

On learning about first event, our Ambassador to USA Mr Haqqani has already written an unequivocal letter to the President of the Carnegie essentially arguing that Carnegie?s renting of its space to the BSO ? NA could potentially damage Pak ? US relations; legitimise the activities of the BSO ? NA who is an adjunct of a terrorist organisation BLA banned in Pak and urged the Carnegie Endowment to revoke its decision of renting space to the BSO ? NA. Response has not yet been rendered by Carnegie Endowment and the meeting have been conducted in the manners as desired by CIA. The government of Pakistan is extremely concerned over USIP holding of an event ?Turmoil in Balochistan? on an integral part of Pak, Balochistan. Since USIP is a congressionally funded body, one would presume that the event is being held under the patronage of Congress. Its implications on Pak ? U.S. relations will be extremely negative. American leadership should think that it is not just academic freedom or analysis that is important, what the USIP must assess is also the impact on our bilateral relations of holding this event. It is time to help consolidate the democratically elected Government of Pakistan. It is obvious that arranging such events, which are ideologically or politically motivated, serve to undermine Pak?s solidarity and its elected govt and defiantly causes hatter against U.S. character in Pakistani masses too. American supported political leadership tried to inflame public opinion in Pakistan and Balochistan.

The think tanks in U.S. are independent and completely autonomous in their policies. Despite the efforts made by our embassy at Washington, it is less likely that USIP will change its stance. In spite of the liberty accorded to think tanks, there always remains influence of state institutions. Therefore, the possibility of U.S. state authorities? involvement in this case cannot be ruled out. After analysing events of last decade and especially of last two years, we can conveniently derive that: - FATA has been focus of US attention for last few years in relation to GWOT. US always insist that Taliban are being provided sanctuaries / safe havens by Pak in FATA. Therefore, all the drone strikes and border violations have been taking place in this area. But mainly due to faulty U.S. policy, a worthwhile success is still not in sight in GWOT. When Gwadar Port started emerging as key project which could boost the economic activities of Pakistan, China and including Central Asia, many stake holders emerged on the scene incl Iran (Chah Bahar), UAE (Dubai) and India.

At the same time terrorist activities sped up in Balochistan and Nooristan (Iran). Nationalist elements in Balochistan have started voicing their concerns on Human Rights Violations and so called atrocities committed by Pakistani LEAs and demand for Independent Balochistan. Indian involvement in Balochistan is a major concern for Pakistan. There have been concrete evidences of Indian involvement in providing funds and weapons to dissident elements in Balochistan. The dissident Baloch leaders living in exile (Harbyar Marri in UK & Brahmdagh Bugti in Switzerland) were incited to raise their voice for Independence of Balochistan. Seeing the ripe situation, India with the connivance of CIA joined the cadres to destabilise Balochistan and ultimately Pakistan. Moreover, killing two birds with one stone, the Chinese interest in Balochistan is automatically countered if this province remains mired in unrest.

Due to convergence of interests, India and USA are pursuing this agenda jointly. To exert pressure on Pakistan to succumb to U.S. demands (for undertaking ops in North Waziristan against Hqqani and against Quetta Shura in Balochistan), the US is hosting activities of dissident Balochs in USA and Canada. Although the event (Rally ?Save Balochistan Campaign? at Vancouver at Summary) could not attract a big number but remains a source of concern for Pak.

Anyhow, the trilateral talks have been rescheduled to review the progress on already set agenda of removing extremism and its related matters. The issue must be taken up in coming trilateral engagements with USA and bilateral talk with India. Thus it is suggested that Pakistan should make the American authorities realize that Balochistan is an integral part of Pakistan and discussion on an integral part of a sovereign country and is abrogation of international norms. The government should also exposed Indian involvement in Balochistan and it must be addressed in bilateral engagements at Sectary level talks b/w India and Pakistan. Government should also highlight the issue of harbouring Baloch dissidents in Pak?U.S.?Afghanistan Trilateral meeting, similarly Afghanistan should be asked to stop Indian to use her territory since, the Baloch youth is being trained and supplied with arms and ammo by Indians on Afghan soil. Afghanistan needs to provide assurance of closing these training camps and not to undertake such steps which could harm bilateral relations as well as destabilise Pakistan.American should also be asked to redefine drone attack policy and provide drone technology to Pakistan. At the same time The ?Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan? package announced by Pakistan Government must be implemented in letter and in spirit to address the deprivations of Baloch people.

Today Americans are praising the masses of the Balochistan province. Pakistan authorities must keep check on the movements of Americans specially its ambassador and they not be allowed to visit each and every place they want to visit. Munter?s movement has to be confined to Islamabad as American interference will soon turn the situation beyond Pakistan?s control. So Pakistan has to keep proper check on American diplomats. This nation doesn?t afford too many Raymonds. We have to solve our internal problems at our own level.

The visiting Americans also showed their resolve to address the difficult issues facing Balochistan province but didn?t apprise the participants who is supporting the elements, who are creating unrest in the province. American ambassador is not Viceroy of Pakistan he is simply an ambassador and has to confine to his official duties.

Can we allow Indian ambassador to visit Quatta tomorrow and meet Indian assets hiding in Balochistan? We have to keep the US-Indian nexus in mind which is behind Pakistan?s instability.

Pakistan Celebrates Pakistan Day ???

Every year, we commemorate March 23 in remembrance of “The Pakistan Resolution” passed in the historic city of Lahore. The Idea of Pakistan was about to be born.

On that day, the Muslim League led by Mr Jinnah declared its support for the Idea of Pakistan. That is why generations of Pakistanis will always remember March 23 with profound reverence and respect. Seven years later, thanks to the iron will and determination of Mr Jinnah, we became proud citizens of a sovereign, independent country-a country we could live for and die for. As he left the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked by an admirer, “Dr. Franklin what have you given us”. Franklin turned to the questioner and replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Not too long ago, we possessed a great country. But where giants walked, midgets pose now. The talk today is of a vanished dignity, of a nation diminished in ways not previously imaginable. It is almost as if no one wants to acknowledge a sad end to what once was a beautiful dream. Our rulers squandered Jinnah’s legacy and turned his dream into a nightmare.

Many nations in the past have attempted to develop democratic institutions, only to lose them when they took their liberties and political institutions for granted, and failed to comprehend foreign threats to their sovereignty and independent. Pakistan is a classic example. Born at midnight as a sovereign, independent, democratic country, today it is neither sovereign, nor independent, nor democratic. Today it is not just a “rentier state,” not just a client state. It is a slave state, ill-led, ill-governed by a corrupt, power-hungry junta running a puppet government set up by Washington.

Sixty-three years after independence, are we really free? Are the people masters in their own house? From the kind of country we have today, Pakistan has lost its manhood and is a ghost of its former self. If Pakistan were to look into a mirror now, it wouldn’t recognise itself. The contrast between Pakistan in 1947 – idealistic, democratic, progressive, optimistic, and Pakistan today – leaderless, rudderless, violent, besieged, corrupt, uncertain about its future – could not be sharper or more disheartening. If you want to know how a people can survive despite their corrupt government, or corrupt leaders, well, visit Pakistan.

The independence of Pakistan is a myth. By succumbing to American pressure, we managed to secure a temporary reprieve. But at what price? Twenty-four hours after CIA spy Raymond Davis – charged with killing two Pakistani citizens in broad daylight in Lahore – was allowed to leave the country with the full support of the government, American drones attacked Data Khel in North Waziristan, killing 25 innocent Pakistanis – men, women and children. No protest. No regrets. No word of sympathy. No remorse.

Today Pakistan is dotted with American fortresses, which seriously comprises our internal and external sovereignty. American security personnel stationed on our soil, like Raymond Davis, move in and out of the country without any let or hindrance. Pakistan has become a launching pad for military operations against neighbouring Muslim countries. We have been drawn into someone else’s war without understanding its true dimension or ultimate objectives. Nuclear Pakistan has been turned into an American lackey, currently engaged in a proxy war against its own people. Zardari reminds one of the American black leader J Raymond Jones. President Truman once asked a New York news paper reporter whether Mr Jones could be trusted. The reporter replied: “Well, Mr President, I can tell you one thing. If Ray Jones stole the Brooklyn Bridge, no would ever find it.”

The present leadership is taking Pakistan to a perilous place. The course they are on leads downhill. How meaningful is our twisted, stunted, pallid democracy, replete with parliament, cabinet, political parties, when crucial decisions are made elsewhere. How can authentic democracy take roots in this country when it has been stripped of all its core values – sovereignty of the people, Inviolability of the Constitution, rule of law, supremacy of civilian rule, independence of the Election Commission, sanctity of the ballot box, and a neutral, honest civil service? How can democracy flourish in the absence of ruthless accountability of corrupt rulers, past and present?

One of the lessons of history is that when people lose faith in their rulers when they lose faith in the sanctity of the ballot box; when elections are rigged and votes are purchased; when the gap between the rulers and the ruled widens; when there are no ways for people to express political preferences from time to time in an atmosphere free from fear, coercion, or intimidation; when known corrupt people, tax evaders and smugglers are foisted upon a poor, illiterate electorate unable to make an informed political choice, and sworn in as ministers; when elections throw up not the best, not the noblest, not the fittest, not the most deserving, but the scum of the community, and a legion of scoundrels; when hunger and anger come together, people, sooner or later, come out on to the streets and demonstrate Lenin’s maxim that in such situations voting with citizen’s feet is more effective than voting in elections.

Too long have we been passive spectators of events. Today our fate is in our hands, but soon it may pass beyond control. A shout in the mountains has been known to start an avalanche. We must call things by their names and shout louder. Let Pakistan be Pakistan again. Let it be the dream it used to be – a dream that is almost dead today. From “those who live like leeches on the people’s lives” – who have robbed us of everything, our past, our present, our future and all our beautiful dreams-we must take back our land again.

Pakistan shares many of Egypt’s problems: rampant corruption, social injustice, a growing wealth gap, inflation, total subservience to United States of America. One reason for the rebellions in Egypt and elsewhere was the in-your-face corruption that everyone knew about. We in Pakistan inhale corruption in the very air we breathe. How can any of our hopes emerge from this quagmire?

This is one of those moments in history when all that is needed is for someone to push open the door. The present corrupt political system would, I have no doubt, disappear in a violent upheaval since it carries within it the seed of its own destruction. At this moment, when the nation is standing on the escalator of corruption and anarchy, right-minded citizens cannot afford to stand frozen in disgust and dismay. We cannot merely look upon the political developments in sorrow and upon our politicians in anger.

Pakistan & US towards their END !!

The episode of Raymond Davis’s release has exposed the reality of justice, the myth of sovereignty and the character of Pakistan’s ruling classes. As Hegel once remarked, “Necessity expresses itself through accident.” The whole incident highlights the economic, diplomatic and military crisis the largest imperial power in history is experiencing in this epoch of the senile decay of capitalism on a world scale.
If you connect all the dots, Pakistan and America are going to clash in the near future. The bilateral equation is virtually at an end, and a ‘revolution’ is going to unfold in Pakistan with popular acclaim, most probably with al Qaeda heading the religious militants of our madrassa network. After the release of Raymond Davis, Washington should have been grateful for another anti-US pantomime with a good ending, but the party (CIA) that unleashed the Raymond Davis crisis decided to unleash another with a drone attack killing 45of a peaceful jirga in North Waziristan, including the local police (khasadars).
The Pakistan Army, increasingly bothered about what the people of Pakistan think — or what the TV channels care to project — has decided to challenge the US more directly on the drones. Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has earned the admiration of the mostly-religious protesters in the streets of Pakistan by putting the Pakistan Air Force on alert after cancelling the leave of its entire staff and denouncing the drone attack as a counterproductive action. The tribal chiefs in the affected area have given a call for jihad against the US, and they don’t have to go far to join the war unfolding in Pakistan under the leadership of Osama bin Laden and his loyalist Taliban. The war against terrorism, which Pakistan joined under General Musharraf, may be reaching its endgame by Pakistan changing sides.
So far it was the exercise of joining the dots. But behind these recent developments there is the bulwark of US-Pakistan relations that has endured many storms in the past and seems to have survived after every dip in the graph of bilateral warmth. Who is challenging whom to break out of it? Who is leaning on brinkmanship to get the other to show his hand and retreat? Behind the current anti-American wave in Pakistan stand a variety of analysts and doomsayers. There is one class which believes Pakistan should not break out of the pro-US stance but tighten the screw on Washington to make it behave. Then there is a group of ‘realist’ experts who say that the US-Pakistan relationship is ‘transactional’ but, in this equation, America clearly needs Pakistan more than Pakistan needs the US. The third group comprises the passionate TV anchor and the fulminating clergy on the roads who want a clean cut-off with America and expect Pakistan’s fortunes to change after that in the shape of some miracle they can’t describe just yet.
If you read the statements issuing from the US State Department — especially words spoken by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — the GHQ in Pakistan may be right in thinking that America’s policy in the region cannot bear fruit without Pakistani help. But General Petraeus, the top US military commander in Afghanistan, seems oblivious of the latest drone outrage when he asks Pakistan to attack North Waziristan. It seems that, when it comes to the crunch, Pakistan will have to forget its honor-driven passions and take a good look at its collapsing economy. Any suspension of American aid will not hurt Pakistan greatly, but if the US uses its clout with the international financial institutions and multilateral development assistance agencies to roll back their aid too, then the pain will be unbearable and will unleash a ‘revolution’ in Pakistan by the end of 2011. The GHQ may be thinking that the nuisance of its India-driven ‘rebellion’ may still be outweighed by the part Pakistan plays in the war against terrorism. In October 2010, a check post attack by US troops allowed Pakistan to demonstrate who was boss in US-Pakistan relations by making Washington apologize abjectly. Will this be repeated in March 2011? Keep in mind that public opinion in the US about Pakistan is at its most negative and that Pakistan is completely isolated internationally on what it is getting ready to do.
The last few months have seen multiple incidents of terrorism in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Mardan, and Quetta. Hundreds lost their lives and many are still in hospitals fighting for their lives or are permanently disabled and scarred by the attacks. Thousands grieve for loved ones that they have lost. The cricket fiasco did not help much either. The only thing which united us has turned out to be corrupt on an international level.
Pakistan has had enough. This will be the turning point, this country has never before been in such a critical situation. There is no comparing the massive displacement and lack of planning for rehabilitation to anything in the past. The fact is that there is no money for reconstruction. A comparison with past military or political solutions is completely irrelevant. The floods need to wash away the current system.
Pakistan’s internal situation is perilous. The economy is gradually coming to a halt and the tsunami of the unemployed, formed by Pakistan’s energy crisis and general bankruptcy of state institutions, is looming on the horizon. This is not a revolution that will set things right. This looks like chaos presided over by al Qaeda (Another US Fiction Tool), whose faith-driven blueprint focuses on war (and booty), not on economic survival.

The Real Axis of Evil (Blackwater/Xe – CIA- Mosad – RAW) for Balochistan/Pakistan

Blackwater, the CIA’s deadliest sidekick, has launched a massive operation to promote insurgency in Balochistan, especially in the coastal areas, as part of its efforts to destabilize the country, it is learnt. The CIA and Blackwater (now Xe Services) operating from the USA have two major designs in Pakistan – to control the entire business of the Gwadar port and to carry out colossal suicide attacks across central Punjab and north-western areas of the country to tell the world that the first atomic Islamic power is ungovernable.

“They wish to have complete control over the entire Balochistan, especially the Gwadar port, and seize the nuclear assets of Pakistan,” said former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Punjab chief Brigadier (r) Mohammad Aslam Ghuman.

The Gwadar Port in Balochistan (one of Pakistan’s tribal regions) has been headline news in Pakistan, India and China this month. Interesting that I can’t find one mention of it in the western media – not even in on-line publications. Since many Pakistani commentators trace the US shift in military focus from Iraq to Afghanistan to the completion of the Chinese-built deep water port in 2005. I myself never heard of the Gwadar Port until I came across an obscure Pakistani blog by Khalid Baig. I was so concerned about its content that I assisted his translator in polishing the English and republished it on OpEdNews
In fact the only US article I can find about the Gwadar Port is a May, 10 2010 Forbes article
It explains how the province of Balochistan is well endowed with oil, gas, copper, zinc, gold, coal and a deepwater port at Gwadar the Chinese built for Pakistan in 2005. And how Balochistan also happens to be China’s link to its sizeable investments in Iranian gas and oil.
China’s stated goal in building the deep water port was to capture the transit trade (via the old ’silk road’) of fossil fuels and minerals of landlocked countries like Afghanistan, as well as encouraging the transhipment of resources bound for other countries reliant on central Asian resources. China has invested well over $15 billion in Balochistan projects, including an oil refinery and zinc and copper mines, in addition to the Gwadar Port and its connecting highways.
The Forbes article doesn’t mention that Balochistan will also be a connecting hub for the Iran-Pakistan-India oil pipeline, which is looked to take the place of the planned Turmanistan-Afghanisan-Pakistan-India pipeline (the one the US supported). India recently pulled out of that one because the Afghan Taliblan kept blowing up the bridges and other critical infrastructure of the Afghan section.
Forbes also doesn’t mention that Iran definitely favors shipping oil and gas via Gwadar rather than the current route through the Strait of Malacaa, where oil tankers are subject to Somali pirates and US naval exercises. Nor that many Asian commentators expect Gwadar to outstrip Dubai as a trade and commercial center, given the immense demand for resources generated by China’s burgeoning middle class.

The US War on Pakistan: the Real Reasons
Nor, of course, the increasing belief by many Pakistani commentators that Gwardar is the real reason for American’s current “proxy war” in Balochistan and the other Pakistani tribal areas. Quetta, north of Gwadar, happens to be a major target of the CIA and Pentagon military operations because of the Taliban leaders who are allegedly hiding out there. Of course it isn’t really clear whether these are “good” Taliban (the ones Hamid Karzai has invited to participate in government – see Sept 12 blog
Interesting, though, the sightings of US marines and Blackwater (Xe) mercenaries (read paid assassins) in Gwadar, which is more than 500 miles south of Quetta.
Khalid Baig and others express concern that Blackwater and RAW (Indian intelligence) agents are stirring up the Balochistan separatist movement by recruiting jobless Balochistan youth and paying them to commit random terrorist acts – such as the rocket that landed in the Gwadar Port a week ago.

Brigadier (r) Mohammad Aslam Ghuman said the insurgents in Balochistan are Indians operating in connivance with Blackwater. “Pervez Musharraf provided safe passage to the Indian intelligence agency RAW, which has established dozens of consulates in Afghanistan along the border with Balochistan,” he added. The former ISI Punjab chief further said days after the Russian federation collapsed, CIA, RAW and Mossad carried out a comprehensive analysis and recommended launching a major operation inside Pakistan, especially Balochistan, to shake the state.

“Yes, the CIA in connivance with RAW and Blackwater is operating in Balochistan and other parts of the country. They cannot absorb any Islamic atomic state,” he remarked.

He urged the politicians especially President Zardari and PM Gilani to shun their silence and “show sincerity to the country”, adding that like in other countries, in Pakistan Blackwater has multiplied its network honeycombed with the CIA, the US Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), Pentagon and the State Department in conducting a variety of terror operations in the country.
Jeremy Scahill, author of a book ‘Blackwater’, in his article ‘The Secret US War in Pakistan’ has already stated: “At a covert forward operating base run by the US Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) in the Pakistani port city of Karachi, members of an elite division of Blackwater are at the center of a secret program in which they plan targeted assassinations of suspected Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives, snatch and grabs of high-value targets and other sensitive action inside and outside Pakistan.”

Reportedly, about 180 US Cobras recently been landed in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, while over 6000 Xe personnel have been positioned in Balochistan especially in Quetta. There are also reports that about 650 US nationals, including 200 US Marines have arrived already on multiple entry visas granted by the Pakistan Embassy in Washington. The reports say the notorious agency, based in the US state of North Carolina, trains more than 40,000 people a year, mostly from the US or foreign military and police services.

It is still unclear whether the US military seeks to take over and occupy Pakistan’s tribal areas; whether they want to support Balochistan in separating from Pakistan to form an independent US friendly independent oil, gas and mineral rich independent state (like Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in Eastern Europe); or if they will be content with their continuing campaign of terrorist activity and economic sabotage. There is no question that the military activity is disrupting the development and operation of the port.

It seems incredibly cynical and hypocritical for the US to carry on this ruthless economic sabotage against Pakistan – especially with the recent floods that have virtually destroyed the country’s economy – and then to demand, via the World Bank, that Pakistan repay $50 billion in foreign debt.
Apart from its agenda in Afghanistan, the US had defined objectives set for Pakistan as well. Under the ruse of alliance, America wanted to denuclearize Pakistan and turn it into a compliant state subservient to India.

For the accomplishment of its objectives, the US in connivance with Israel, Britain and India chalked out a comprehensive covert plan spread over 7-8 years to weaken it from within. On the pretext of helping Pakistan’s agencies in tracing and nabbing Al-Qaeda and Taliban runaways as well as those harboring them, a secret deal was struck with Gen Musharraf in December 2001 and later renewed in March 2008 that CIA and FBI operatives would be allowed complete liberty of action and immunity from criminal jurisprudence to operate in any part of the country and provided full cooperation by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Under the plea of keeping a watch on terrorists and netting them, CIA and FBI established Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The two agencies soon took complete control over intelligence gathering and dissemination and marginalized the role of ISI and MI. These FOBs became spying and clandestine operations hideouts to destabilize FATA and Balochistan. Their task was not to control terrorists but to fan terrorism, sectarianism, ethnicity and separatism by subverting the loyalties of people, cultivating agents within militant and criminal groups and using them for assassinating important personalities, clerics and pro-government tribal elders and for sabotage and subversion. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in FATA and Baloch Liberation Army in Balochistan were the creation of CIA duly helped by RAW. Banned Jihadi groups were goaded to join up with TTP.

Blackwater elements under the supervision of CIA started operating in Pakistan from 2008 onwards under various guises with a view to expand covert war in major urban centres, pass on information about sensitive installations, gain maximum information about nuclear facilities and draw road maps leading to these sites. DynCorps Pvt Ltd Security Company run by a retired army captain was an offshoot of Xe-World (new name of Blackwater) or Xe Services. Its main office was established in Islamabad and its main function was to distribute weapons procured from abroad.

Xe-Services also had a proper recruiting and training centre in a hired house with a large compound at Sihala next door to police academy. This facility was opened to train the police but it was misused to train a local force for multiple purposes and to keep a close eye on Kahuta nuclear plant. Retired army and police commandoes and ex soldiers were hired on handsome salaries and trained for providing local intelligence, security duties and protection of private contractors and safe houses. Group attack practice to militants was imparted in this building. Sihala centre and Dyncorps office were closed after public protests and media pressure, but Interior Minister maintained all along that there was no Blackwater operative in Pakistan.

Another training centre was opened at Warsak to train Frontier Corps but was used for other purposes as well. Trainers were under cover CIA operatives and were linked with a private residence hired in Peshawar University Chinar Road converted into a safe house. Xe Services provides security contractors to CIA. USA, Israel and India fund this Company since the private contractors act as double agents and execute clandestine operations for the three countries.

Brigadier (r) Yasub Ali Dogar said Blackwater, which is against the interest of Pakistan, has been actively involved in assassinating pro-government Maliks, clerics and notables in FATA, religious scholars in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, political figures, and target killings in Quetta and in Karachi. He said it provides surveillance and support to terrorist groups such as BLA and BRA in Balochistan and Tehrik-e-Taliban-Pakistan in FATA and Swat.

Sources in the Foreign Ministry said the US Embassy in Islamabad is being expanded as $115 million have been earmarked, which include $5 million for Marines quarters, $53.5 million for housing infrastructure, $18 million for general services and office area, $36 million for temporary duty quarters and community staff facilities. As many as $800 million have been allocated for the protection of enlarged and fortified Embassy through private security contractor DynCorp, sources added.

Sources said the US has also purchased a large chunk of land in Sihala and has seemingly established a secret military training camp adjacent to the Police Academy a few kilometers from Islamabad and Kahuta. “In 2006, the US acquired land near Tarbela with a view to build a military base,” they added.

Reportedly, the US opened a JSOC unit in Balochistan where Marines are coming in via Islamabad. Marines as well as heavy contingents of Blackwater operatives (total 11,000) have been spotted in Balochistan. They, in collaboration with BLA and BRA, are mostly carrying out target killings. Four airbases in Balochistan were leased to the US military in September 2001 and these bases at Jacobabad, Pasni, Dalbaldin and Shamsi are still in their use. It is now an open secret that Shamsi airbase is under use by US drones where Blackwater was hired for loading hellfire missiles and 500lbs laser guided bombs on Predators. Similar job is being performed at Jalalabad airbase to strike targets in Pakistan.

Moreover, Blackwater has hired seven private houses in defense area and acquired hundreds of acres of land near Pataro in Sindh to launch an agricultural research institute. There are reports of secret construction of operational facilities in Gharo in Sindh to serve as a base for 200 Marines and that a sizeable number of American armoured carriers had arrived at Port Qasim, with 3,000 Humvees awaiting dispatch.

According to a defense analyst, there have already been 700 Blackwater personnel in various offices established in Islamabad, Peshawar and Karachi. They have also rented 228 homes for the accommodation of these mercenary soldiers of Blackwater in which 37 are in F-6 sector, 40 in G-6 sector, 47 in sector F-7, 48 in F-8, 20 in F-10, 25 in F-11 and 9 houses in I-8 sector. Most alarming is that two of these houses are located near the residence of Dr AQ Khan in E-7 sector of Islamabad, the analyst said.

Unfortunately, the analyst said, the Afghan government has fallen to RAW policies by providing shelter to Brahamdag Bugti and allowing RAW to operate in Balochistan in connivance with newly-established Afghan intelligence agency RAAM (earlier name KHAD). RAW has organised a network of training schools/centres throughout Afghanistan, including in Kabul, Jalalabad, Khawaja Ghar (Takhar Province), Khost, Paktia, Urgun, Khandar, Spin Boldak and Dranj (Badakhshan Province), according to the analyst.

Xe-Services elements as well as CIA, FBI, Mossad and RAW agents including over 1000 under cover operatives of US Special Forces work in tandem and are still active in provincial capitals and are responsible for escalating incidents of terrorism. These elements are behind most terrorist attacks including attacks on mosques, shrines of saints and religious places. In addition, a specially trained force of 3000 ex Afghan soldiers trained by CIA had been inducted in FATA sometime in 2007/08 to carryout target killings of pro-government and anti-US notables and sympathizers of anti-US militants and also to beef up TTP.

Aid under Kerry-Lugar Bill was designed to induct greater number of agents belonging to Special Operations on the pretext of coordinators and distributors of funds for approved projects. CIA agents belonging to US Special Forces started slipping into Pakistan in various garbs. Large numbers of private houses were hired in 2009 in Islamabad and provincial capitals to accommodate new faces.

Under cover CIA agents posing as diplomats, officials, businessmen, consultants and security contractors are provided official residences in posh areas duly protected by Blackwater security guards; they move in official cars with diplomatic number plates. Each one of them comes well trained and well equipped. They are given heavier perks, privileges and pay compared to US military personnel engaged in combat in Afghanistan. Since these undesirable elements under fake identity have sneaked in without scrutiny and in big numbers and fanned out in different urban centres, it becomes that much problematic for security agencies to track them.

The US and Indian Embassies in Islamabad as well as consulates have become dens of espionage within Pakistan and safe houses for Raymond Davis like terrorists. The so-called diplomats and staff posted in US and Indian Embassies and consulates are mostly involved in espionage. US media has disclosed that Davis was part of a covert intelligence network involving hundreds of spies operating in Pakistan without the knowledge of security agencies. Death of three US Special Forces trainers in Lower Dir as a result of suicide attack, arrest of Davis in Lahore, and Aaron Mark De-Haven from Peshawar and identification of Jonathan Banks as chief supervisor of drone attacks and detection of Blackwater activities gives an idea about the scale of organized CIA network in Pakistan.

The US plans to convert its embassy in Islamabad into the biggest and most modern embassy in the world surpassing its Baghdad Embassy. 16 acres of extra land has been acquired and work is underway. It plans to station 1000 Marines and greater number of CIA and Blackwater elements along with APCs, large fleet of vehicles including Humvies and other latest gadgets so as to expand its intelligence network and improve its staying power as well as its quick reaction capability. This force can also act as the staging section to guide the main assault group against a specified target. Pentagon has made contingency plans for quick seizure or destruction of our nuclear arsenal.

US Consulates in Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi as well as Xe Services offices are connected with several Joint Special Operation Command (JSOC) and FOBs. Based on policy guidelines received from US Ambassador in Islamabad, the JSOCs plan, coordinate and monitor the activities of field operatives as well as provide intelligence for drone strikes. Efforts are now in hand to open another consulate in Quetta to be able to add fuel to the dying fire of separatist movement led by a small band of Baloch rebels. Pressure on Pakistan to mount an operation in North Waziristan is with a devious intent. Departure date from Afghanistan has not been extended by USA to 2014 to convert its defeat into victory but to steal Pakistan’s nukes.

There have been numerous cases wherein the US diplomats and officials have been found breaking the law of the land in Islamabad and in Lahore. Some were in possession of unlicensed and prohibited bore weapons, grenades and explosives and traveling at ungodly hours of the night. Each time they were apprehended by the police, they were let off scot-free. The Interior Minister has always been coming to the rescue of the culprits, while our Ambassador in Washington Hussein Haqqani assists the undesirables in obtaining visas and getting clearance from Foreign Office.

If the going still gets tough, the PM or the President removes all bottlenecks created by ever watchful ISI. It is owing to our over keenness to keep Washington pleased that our rulers feel no qualm in violating own laws and rules. Laxity in abiding with rules and regulations has resulted in massive inflow of US citizens with criminal background.
Heavy inflow of undesirable American citizens from 2008 onwards without proper checks at Embassy’s end was objected to by ISI after several incidents of terrorism took place in Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore in which hand of Blackwater was visible. Certain US officials involved in suspicious activities and deported from Pakistan had been re-issued visas by our Embassy in Washington. Raymond Davis was twice declared persona non-grata and sent back and yet he managed to return to Pakistan and this time he killed two Pakistanis.

On repeated complaints of ISI when restrictions were imposed on issuance of visas and credentials of each entrant were checked, Washington pulled a long face and resorted to its usual practice of threats asserting that aid under Kerry-Lugar Bill will get affected. Based on the complaint of Hussein Haqqani that the ISI and Foreign Office were causing unnecessary problems in clearing visas of US nationals, Rahman Malik prevailed upon PM Gilani and convinced him to issue an executive order in July 2010 empowering Haqqani to issue visas to Americans without any scrutiny.

Our Embassy in Washington issued 500 visas in one week and has ever since continued to issue visas freely. Record of visas issued in last three years indicate 3528 in 2008, 3784 in 2009 and 3555 in 2010. It is not known as to how many out of 11567 visas issued by Haqqani are CIA, Mosad and RAW agents under the garb of diplomats. Despite the spy network been exposed, the US is still unwilling to wind up and withdraw it’s under cover agents in hundreds from Pakistan. Ongoing spate of bomb and suicide attacks gives rise to suspicion that under cover agents are resorting to yet another kind of pressure tactics to get Davis released.

Hussein Haqqani owes an explanation to 170 million people of Pakistan for dispatching faceless CIA agents wearing numerous masks to Pakistan and endangering their lives. He got the rules on visas relaxed and did away with basic verification and security checks of visa applicants. He did this merely to please USA but in the process allowed hundreds of Raymond Davis type assassins to play havoc in Pakistan. He and Rahman Malik are mainly responsible for this inexcusable offence and must be held accountable. Gilani should be asked as to why he blindly agreed to illegal request made by Haqqani and recommended by Malik. He should cancel the executive order forthwith. It is high time that we gird up our loins and get rid of the foreign assassins as well as snakes in the grass at the earliest.
